Helen Tiffany, Managing Director Bec Development

  

Helen has many years of experience working both as a practitioner and consultant in organisational development. Before setting up Bec Development, she was the Head of Training and Development for Haymarket Magazines. Helen's contribution to the business includes executive coaching and mentoring, the delivery of management and leadership programmes, and provides consultancy in organisational development.

Clients include BBC, NHS, GlaxoSmithKine, Starcom, Clear Channel, News International, Bank of East Asia, DDB, Mediacom, Naked to name a few.

Helen is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a licensed practitioner in Myers Briggs. She is the management trainer for Media Circle and a member of the Association of Coaching (MAC). She is an MBA alumni coach for Manchester Business School and the author of The guide to: The Manager as Coach published by Wolters Kluwer. She has just completed a post grad in the Psychology of Coaching and is about to embark upon a Masters in Business Psychology.   

 

Carol Bates, Consultant

Carol has worked as an HR consultant for over 25 years and has a particular interest in supporting and developing people to achieve their aims and goals within organisations, regardless of the level at which an individual operates.

Carol has a facilitative style, encouraging groups and individuals to identify the most appropriate solutions to issues themselves. Recent projects include the facilitation of change, team building events, leadership development, coaching and mentoring, use of appropriate tools such as psychometric tests where they add value and offer another dimension to the client.  She supports the development of HR strategy and plans for private and public organisations. 

Carol is quickly able to assimilate organisational business needs and provide HR solutions to recognised needs through the involvement of the organisation's Senior Management Team. 

Greg Keen, Consultant

Greg started his publishing career at Centaur Communications where he rose through the ranks to become Associate Publisher on several of their design and media titles. In 1993 he was made Training Director responsible for commissioning, devising, and delivering all training activity within the company. Specifically he wrote and implemented Centaur's management development programme.

In 1997 Greg left Centaur to become a freelance sales and management trainer. Since then has worked with many high profile companies within both media and associated areas. These include: EMAP, The Builder Group, Linguaphone, Air Miles, Egg, The Mail On Sunday, Macmillan Nature Publishing, Incisive Media, Penton Media, Conduit, The Mirror Group, and Assembly Television. 

Greg has an energetic approach, matched with years of experience and a way of working with people that means he creates a dynamic learning environment.

Sharon Peake, Consultant

Sharon is a seasoned Human Resources specialist with 15 years experience spanning a range of human capital areas, across Australia and the UK, including: leadership development and succession planning; executive recruitment; change management; team development; organisation development; coaching and mentoring; skills and leadership training, and a wide range of generalist HR activities.

Sharon has experience working in and across different cultures and has led several global change projects in a FTSE 50 company. She currently works as a freelance Leadership and Professional Development Consultant, with her specific areas of interest in helping individuals to reach their potential, including identifying career changes and enabling career progression, and helping build capability for transition to leadership roles. Sharon is an accredited user of various personality assessment tools, including Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ), Saville Wave, and Motivation Questionnaire (MQ).

Roger Grennan, Consultant

Roger has worked in four major companies across three different sectors and in three different countries. He has been responsible for talent management and leadership development in a FTSE 100 multinational pharmaceutical organization and has worked with individuals from a broad range of disciplines including finance, human resources, strategy, engineering, quality and compliance. He has also worked with individuals in technology, sales, events management and new entrepreneurs. His personal line business roles have been with Big 5 Accounting / Consulting, Banking and Pharmaceutical companies.

Roger has an informal yet very professional style.  Roger's unique selling point stems from his extensive background in line business and HR roles - this is his ability to operate at the deeper values/‘soft' areas and very effectively bring this to measurable business results and outputs that benefit the individual and organisation.

Roger's key areas of expertise include: career coaching - exploration, motivation, clarification, transition; executive coaching - leadership style, behavioural; talent management; leadership development; networking expert (how to master networking), very strong business acumen. 

Seren Trewavas, Consultant

Seren is a leadership and management development specialist with over fifteen years experience of facilitating individual, team and organisational change.  She works with a number of clients in the private and public sectors from charities to large plcs, and currently works with London Business School as a Programme Director.

Seren draws on a number of approaches (e.g. NLP, psychodynamic, Solution focused) to build a unique method suitable for each client.  Her strengths are her empathy, emotional intelligence and a passion for helping others engage more fully in their work through an enhanced sense of meaning and purpose.

Neil Thackray, Consultant

Neil was an early pioneer in the development of Internet solutions. He built one of the early consumer travel websites for United Business Media and was responsible for digital development at Miller Freeman in the last Century. He went on to be the European CEO of The Industry Standard which was widely regarded as the definitive guide to the Internet economy. Most recently Neil has been CEO of Nexus Media where he oversaw the development of http://www.worldtravelguide.net/ where web traffic grew three fold to nearly 5m page views a month and advertising grew at rapid rates. He also built a vertical search engine and a suite of business to business web sites.

Neil has been the CEO or Managing Director of four media businesses each of which has faced new digital challenges. He brings a unique blend of extensive practical operational experience with a deep understanding of what succeeds and what does not.

Neil was once a professional teacher and has extensive presentation experience.

Laura Jones, Consultant

Laura is a marketing and communications specialist who has spent much of her career working with global communication agencies. These include Saatchi & Saatchi, where she was Managing Director of their direct operation and Leo Burnett, where she was Deputy Chairman of the UK Marketing Services business. Laura is currently the Global Client Managing Director on the international Philips business at Doyle Dane Bernback (DDB).
